Pasta Carbonara
Television Dramedy — 45 min
Saffron Wright, a rigid data analyst who lives her life by spreadsheets and data points, experiences a rare moment of spontaneity on her first night off in months. At a dive bar, she meets Marco, a passionate Sicilian chef whose happy-go-lucky personality both challenges and captivates her. But after an evening of unexpected connection she loses contact with the man of her dreams.
Determined not to let this serendipitous connection slip away, Saffron launches a methodical search through London's vibrant food scene, armed with only a few clues: his first name, his signature carbonara dish, and the knowledge that he recently moved to the city. Her journey takes her from high-end restaurants to hole-in-the-wall trattorias, where she encounters an eclectic cast of characters: her pragmatic best friend who thinks she's lost her mind, an ex-boyfriend who now runs a food blog, and a competitive coworker who might know Marco's whereabouts—but sees Saffron as a threat.
As her search intensifies, Saffron's carefully structured life begins to unravel. Her use of company resources to aid her search threatens the promotion that has been years in the making, her apartment lease expires forcing her to temporarily move into a flat above a chaotic bakery, and each failed lead pushes her further from her comfort zone. Yet with each new culinary experience and unexpected connection, Saffron discovers a side of herself that her data-driven existence never allowed to emerge.
