Joy Kirigo is a London-based screenwriter and playwright drawn to 'me against the world' narratives. A graduate of the University of the Arts London's MA Screenwriting programme, her work explores gentrification, internet culture, and the forces designed to break people down.
Joy has a background in theatre, having produced two shows at the Little Theatre Club in Mombasa, Kenya. She is a member of the Black Writers Collective at Southwark Playhouse, a member of The Kusp, and a 2026 Fellow of Royalties London.
Outside of her writing practice, Joy is an Editorial Content Officer at Central Saint Martins, a workshop curator for the Common Stories Collective, and an OL Lyonnes fan.
